US–Iran Clash Escalates in Strait of Hormuz
The military confrontation has become fierce in the Strait of Hormuz after the US and Iran engaged in a third direct attack within a week. The US has conducted self-defense attacks against Iranian radar stations and drone centers because the US drone was fired at. In reaction to the attacks from the US, Iran hit back by launching ballistic missiles towards the US air base in Kuwait; fortunately, the missiles were intercepted. The current military confrontation follows the breakdown in peace talks where the US president, Donald Trump, has raised new conditions for the agreement. Trump requires some changes to be made in order to open up the important shipping route, the Strait of Hormuz, and the issue of Iran’s nuclear program. On its part, Iran refuses to make the changes.
